Blade selection

Chip sizes can be changed by choosing a screw blade with a different pitch. Laimet’s screw blades are made of very resistant hard metal, Stellite, which makes them particularly long-lasting. When the hard-welded cutting surface is worn out, it can be refurbished at the manufacturer’s workshop. The cost of repairing the blade is only half the price of a new corresponding screw blade.

The most significant advantage of using Laimet screw blade chippers are high quality homogenous chips. Chips produced are even sized and splitter free with minimal quantities of sawdust and small particles.

The construction of Laimet screw chippers is simple, reliable, durable and long-lasting. Very few parts wear and need to be replaced. Furthermore, the noise level of the low speed models is so low that they even be used close to residential areas.
